Holidays are not what they used to be pre children, gone are the days of lazing around by the pool reading a book or having a drink. These days are more about making sure the kids don’t fall into the water or disappear on a crowded beach. To be honest, I find holidays a tiny bit stressful and not relaxing at all

We are off on holidays very soon and I plan to send my children to the resort’s kids club a couple of hours a day. I am sure they will love it and it will give us a bit of quiet time but I can’t help but feeling a bit guilty.

Am I the only one that finds stressful holidaying with kids?

They say gift wrapping is an art… not sure if it is true  or not but I am  obsessed with it.

I always wanted to be one of those mums whose presents look very stylish and extremely well wrapped. My study is filled with lot’s of different rolls of paper, ribbons, labels, whasi tape etc. I flick through Pinterest and admire the lovely pictures of amazingly well presented presents and I just want to replicate them

These are some of my favourites below

Unfortunately, my wrapping never goes according to plan, I always end up leaving it to the last minute, usually the night before, and  as I wrap it all in a rush I forget my washi tape or my ribbons and I always end up deciding that I will need to leave my stylish wrapping until the next time

It was my son’s birthday on Sunday and as usual I left things to the last minute and wrapped his presents in a rush on Saturday night

Do you think he noticed my bad wrapping? NO, in fact  he ripped the paper apart in one second…

I will in the meantime, carry on adding images to my pinterest board and hope I can put some of those ideas into practice next time we have a birthday…

Please tell me I am not the only one with this obsession…

Having two young children in the house means we have endless bits of “art” everywhere. My eldest is always asking for blank pieces of paper to do some drawing and colouring, my youngest comes from nursery every week with more pieces of art and frankly I don’t know what to do with all those bits. I have started putting the nicest things in a folder and the idea is to keep it  for when they are older, just like my parents have done with my stuff.

The other day my son came from nursery with this really nice painting, it was on done on a black card and it had nice colours and a bit of glitter, so I decided to get a frame and see how it looked.  I bought a white frame and look at the result.

I think it looks stunning, and I it looks like something done by an abstract artist…. Tate Modern anyone?

I am now going through my eldest son’s old stuff to see if I can find something on black card to do the same thing and have them both on the wall.

I think these will also make great Christmas presents for the grandparents, don’t you think?

Do you do anything with your children’s art?
