Currently Loving | October

It’s nearly the end of October, Halloween tomorrow and soon we will  all be talking about Christmas. As we are heading into winter  I thought I’d share the things I’m currently loving.

White company Winter Candle – This is one of my all-time favourite candles.

It has a mixture of orange, cinnamon and clove and it really transports you to Christmas. It makes the room smell divine and as the name says, it really makes you feel all wintery and cosy. I always try to start using it in December but this year I have started earlier.

I just love this range from the white company, I already have the room diffuser and will be probably be buying the potpourri.

Oliver Bonas Ring – I have mentioned before in the blog  my love for Oliver Bonas, it really is my go to shop whenever I want to treat myself or buy gifts for friends or family.

My partner surprised me with this ring a couple of weeks ago and I love it. It has semiprecious stones- although at the moment I can’t really work out what the main stone is, and it has a beautiful and unusual design.

I have been wearing it every day and I think I will put more bits from this range in my Christmas / Birthday wish list.

Do you know what the stones are?

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel – I had never tried Sally Hansen products before until I picked up a bottle of the Miracle Gel other day.  What a great discovery… I now love it and I have been wearing it ever since.

It is a great product and very easy to apply, the brush is wide and covers the nail in only one stroke. It only needs two coats to look perfect. My manicure is still looking good and chip free least 5 or 6 days after applying it  which is unusual for a non-salon polish. I will definitely be buying more colours of this range.

Have you ever tried this range?

I’ve also been loving the lovely weather we have been having in London, until today. It has been very mild and even sunny most of the time, it’s lovely to be able to leave the house and not feel like winter is here although I am sure that is about to change soon.

What are you currently loving?

Kids Fashion | Double Denim

I always think of double denim as a bit 80’s, up there with the shoulder pads and the big hair, but somehow it seems to be back in fashion again.

The other day I bought a gorgeous denim shirt in GAP. I thought it would ideal for my youngest, and then I realised the best way to wear would be with more denim.

When it comes to double denim I think the best way is to combine light with dark colours so dark blue jeans are the perfect match for this shirt.

I really like this look ,the shirt is a tiny bit loose and looks great with skinny jeans. The sleeves can be rolled up and as it’s a bit thick it could be worn in the summer as a jacket or with a t-shirt underneath.

The buttons are press studs and they give it a very grown up look.

What do you think of the double denim look? Do you like it?

My first 6 months of blogging

It has been nearly 6 months since I started my blog, 6 months, how did that happen?

I have thoroughly enjoyed my blogging time so far although I find it hard to keep on top of it, work full time and spend time with my boys. This is one of the reasons why my blog is not updated on a regular basis.

I never realised how much work it is involved in creating and maintaing a blog, being a blogger means you also need to be:

Web Developer –  Setting up a blog is not easy, even the “easy” templates / themes need a lot of tweaking and changing and adapting to your taste. Changing something is not easy and as straight forward as you might think. I have been struggling with this but over the past couple of months I have managed to do nearly all the changes I wanted.

Photographer –  Personally I love a blog with good pictures. It is usually the main thing that attracts me to read a blog. I love photography so this hasn’t been very difficult for me and I can only hope that my photography  improves as the blog develops.

Graphic Designer – This is one of the things I enjoy the most, deciding what to add and where to in the blog. I have so many ideas, but again is not very easy if you are a beginner.

Social Media Manager – Keeping up with social media is hard if you work, but it has to be done if you want to get your blog across. Instagram is my favourite social media platform, I don’t post as often as I should but I can spend lot’s of hours browsing through it.

So, all in all my blog is a work in progress, I guess there are always things to change and update.  I keep changing my mind about the layout and theme and if it was easy I’d been changing it every other week.

Are you a blogger? How do you find the technical aspects of maintaining the blog? Any bloggers out there that work full time, how do you keep up?
