Our week at the H10 Tindaya Hotel in Fuerteventura

Our holiday requirements have changed a lot since having children. Long gone are the days of long haul flights and exotic destinations; we are now embracing all inclusive and child friendly places instead. Fuerteventura has been on our holiday wish list for a while, not just  for the great weather all year round but also for their white sandy beaches and super clear sea. After a lot of research we decided to stay at the H10 Tindaya which is part of the H10 Hotels group. The H10 Tindaya is in Costa Calma, in the Southern part of the island, about an hour / an hour and a half transfer from the airport.

Spacious  accommodation is very important for me when choosing a hotel. As a family of four we don’t all want to be crammed into one room. Fear not, this wasn’t an issue at the H10 Tindaya. Our Superior Junior Suite -overlooking the sea- was very spacious and big enough for all of  us. I loved some of the little touches in the room, a coffee machine (some milk to go with it would have been appreciated), the fluffiest bathrobes, and a bluetooth speaker.  The bathroom even had kids toiletries. All these details made the H10 Tindaya feel like a home from home. It’s the little things like this that make a hotel stand out.

The H10 Tindaya has 3 main pools, one salty and one heated. It also has 2 heated shallow kids paddling pools which our children loved.  The children loved being by the pools so much that they didn’t want to spend any time on the beach, which was on the hotel’s doorstep.  One of the bigger pools had a few slides, two of those curly chutes which provided endless  hours of fun and entertainment. We stayed at the hotel the last week of May, during the UK’s school half term holidays and even though it was busy we didn’t have any problems finding sun loungers. There was a mixture of nationalities, which I always think it’s nice when staying in a hotel. There were quite a large number of Italians, some German some Brits and even some Spanish.

I’m always a bit worried about not staying in the middle of a resort, the H10 Tindaya is about 1km from Costa Calma, but the kids were quite happy spending time by the pool or going to the mini disco so there was no need for us to leave. With a sandy volleyball court, a five-a-side football pitch and a tennis court, plus a minigolf circuit in the gardens the hotel has a bit to keep everybody happy. There is a playground and a kids club for the little ones too. A Thalasso Centre and Spa provide a wide range of treatments and massages.

Food wise we were spoilt for choice, the main buffet restaurant has great variety of food, all delicious and fresh. There is also a pool bar that serves snacks and drinks and lovely cocktails! I find when travelling with children that all inclusive is the best choice.

The hotel has direct access to a beautiful golden sand beach, with clear water, unfortunately our children are not too keen on the beach so we did not spend too much time there. It was a real shame as the beach was beautiful.

Overall we had a great holiday, H10 Hotels is a great chain and we will definitely try another one of their hotels in the future.

Have you ever been to Fuerteventura?

*I was offered a couple of complimentary spa treatments in exchange for this review but all opinions and photographs are my own
